The fruits that Neuronex is growing are beginning to get harvested

The Neuronex – Working Memory consortium is proud to showcase another exciting publication, which studies the convergent effects of intrinsic neuronal properties and network dynamics in the later prefrontal cortex of macaques monkeys. Together with our Canadian and US-American colleagues, we could show that a peculiar phenomenon of cortical circuits in action, namely spike-frequency adaptation, results from an interplay of intrinsically generated spike firing patterns of excitatory and inhibitory neurons with behavior-dependent network properties of the dorsolateral prefrontal cortex, a region crucial for working memory formation.
