Annual Meeting of the Anatomische Gesellschaft

The 119th assembly of the Anatomische Gesellschaft in Würzburg (24.-26.09.2025) was a big success, for our discipline as well as for our institute. With a record attendance of ca. 330 people, we needed to open the large lecture hall despite being in the arena of the small one has this quite legendary tradition. Excellent plenary lectures by Josef Penninger and Thomas Kuner shone a light on great science and many individual lectures of high quality added up to an exciting program. The Institute for Neuroanatomy was represented by Hala Nam, talking about “Intrinsic physiology and synaptic connectivity of genetically specified VIP-expressing GABAergic neurons in L2/3 of mouse barrel cortex” and by Janine Reinert as well as Bernhard Reuss presenting a poster. As a new format, the advanced teaching lecture entitled “Cortical cell types and their connectivity” was given by Jochen Staiger. Carry on anatomists and look out for the 120th meeting next year in Bielefeld hosted by former Göttingen student Björn Spittau!
