When 2 is the magic number

Two guys from the Institute for Neuroanatomy visited 2 conferences and showed 2 (times the same great) poster(s)! After a long period of “US-Barrels” only, the Barrels organizing committee decided that it was about time to have another “Euro-Barrels”. Thus, it came in handy that the FENS Forum 2026 took place at the fantastic spot of Barcelona and with Laura Modol (and Miguel Maravall) we had two “locals” who could support us with all the necessary stuff at a beautiful place close to the beach. It became a great meeting with lots of interesting science, with only 2 drawbacks (being too hot and being not so well attended – see group picture). In any case, Vahid and me had a good time, listening to lots of great talks, seeing lots of great posters and having lots of great tapas.

FENS featured some 8000 visitors (at a really ugly concrete jungle spot), which is just another record (and not so much less than the ~20.000 that visited the latest SfN meeting ;- ). Here it was no less colder but of course the science was also no less hotter. Vahid had a great poster session and he could enjoy the appreciation of many people for good slice electrophysiology, presenting the latest and greatest on VIP cell connectivity.
