A scientific afterburner

Publishing can be a very slow process and not too rarely. All the better when you see a paper published after a long waiting period. I am very happy and also satisfied that something that started long ago – when Tran Tuoc was still an independent junior group leader at the Institute for Neuroanatomy – now found its respectful home in the Journal of “Brain”. Ulmke et al. (congratulations, Pauline!) reported on “EXOSC10 haploinsufficiency causes primary microcephaly by derepression of Sonic hedgehog signalling”. These finding shed new light on the contribution of RNA homeostasis to cortical development by modulating sonic hedgehog signalling.
